The most fitting for this sock was unevenly dyed recycled cotton yarn. We are not talking about cotton recycled from worn garments, by "recycled cotton," we mean 100% virgin cotton; yarn made of fibres that were too short to be spun into regular cotton yarn.

Using yarn spun from shorter fibres, Nishiguchi gets that rustic look for socks that pair perfectly with casual denim wear.

Nishiguchi took the extra fine cotton fibres called virgin cotton, which remained after yarn and ran it through a specialized spinning machine to create this special yarn. Nishiguchi used a unique dyeing technique called speck dyeing to add even more character to these socks, which involves sprinkling dye capsules and steaming the thread, forcing them to burst and create random specks of colour.
